Crochet Sandal Pattern Materials
- A 4mm(G) crochet hook or hook needed to meet gauge
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Stitch markers
- Beads (if desired)
Along with the above you will need the following yarn:

You will require approximately: 100 metres, 110 yards of yarn to crochet the sandals. 1 ball of the recommended yarn.
It’s a category 4, worsted weight yarn which is what gives your hat its durability. Find out more about yarn weights and categories.
For my hats, I used the colours Ochre and Denim.

sc – single crochet (how to single crochet stitch)
dc – double crochet (double crochet tutorial)
Special Stitches
Magic Ring (MR)
Wrap the yarn around two fingers to create a loop, leaving a short yarn tail. Insert your hook under the front strand and grab the working yarn, pulling up a loop. Chain 1 to secure the ring, then work the required number of stitches into the centre of the loop. When you’ve finished the round, gently pull the yarn tail to tighten and completely close the centre hole.
Alternatively you can work a ch2 and work into the 2nd ch from the hook.
Stacked Double Crochet
This is an alternative to a starting chain and gives a much neater and straighter edge to your work.
Insert hook into first stitch, yoh and pull through stitch. Yoh and pull through both loops (sc created). Insert hook into side of sc just made, yoh and pull through. Yoh and pull through both loops.
How to Customise my Beaded Crochet Sandals
- You can make your toe strap any length you like by changing the number of chains worked on Round 6 for it.
- You can adjust the length of the sandal straps by working any length of chains for them. Make sure to make them even.
- Add as many bead as you like to your straps and sandals, or how about sequins?!
Pattern Gauge: Gauge isn’t essential but each side of the triangle should measure approx 3.5″
Making a crochet gauge swatch is important when crocheting projects to ensure that it ends up the desired size.
This is also a great way to get used to the stitches used in the project and practise getting your stitches nice and neat.

- The pattern is written in standard US crochet terms
- The sandals are made from a triangle each worked in rounds from the centre outwards.
- The straps are then added afterwards.
- A ch1 at the beginning of a row does not count as a stitch.
- You can either work a stacked dc or a ch3 at the beginning of each round as the first stitch if indicated.
- The straps can be made to any length you like.
- Stitch counts are given in [ ] at the end of each Row. If no stitch count is given, then the count is the same as the previous Row.

As a guide I added 4 beads per strap in the images shown.
With RS facing, join yarn to 2nd of 3sc in one of the corners and chain as many as you like for the strap. Break yarn.
If you’re enjoying this pattern, have a go at the Verona filet crochet t shirt.
As a guide I did:
- ch60 for a shorter strap (shown in Ochre colour)
- ch24, *add bead in next ch, ch16; rep from * 4 times for a longer strap (shown in Denim)
Repeat this on the other corner of the sandal top, with RS facing and joining to the 2nd of 3sc.
Sew a bead to the centre of the sandal top if desired.
Break the yarn. Weave in ends to complete.
