Cleo’s Cloud Blanket – A Free Crochet Pattern

My best friend had the beautiful Cleo earlier in the year and I was so happy to be able to design a new blanket for her. Cleo’s Mum (who now has three gorgeous girls) loves all things vintage but not frumpy and so for each new arrival I’ve tried to design something with a vintage and heirloom feel but with a nod to the modern and Cleo’s Cloud Blanket is what I came up with this time.

I went for a subtle cream colour and focussed on adding texture with some really simple stitches to make the blanket easy to make but beautiful to look at.

The pattern is here free for everyone to enjoy. You can download a free PDF of the pattern and also find the yarn I used too:

Yarn

I designed the blanket in Sirdar Snuggly DK which is perfect for baby blankets or garments that are made for comfort and cuddling. The entire blanket only took five balls of yarn so is a really budget friendly make.

The yarn is 55% nylon and 45% acrylic, 165m/50g and there are over 40 beautiful shades to choose from!

The fabulous folks at Deramores have put together a yarn pack (which also includes the free pattern PDF) so if you fancy it in the Cream shade then follow the link below:

The pattern on this blanket is very unique. It reminds me of the blades on those giant windmills that are scattered over huge farm fields and enormous areas of open land throughout the US.

I first saw this on the Google homepage, and it look nice so I checked it out. I love love this pattern! I would rename this pattern to "Angels in the Clouds," because it looks like angels are angel wings! This is so perfect pattern to make for one of my nieces. But, I want to make it larger into an afghan.
