How do you Make this Crochet Gloves Pattern?

  • The mittens are made from the bottom up.
  • We begin with the Mitten Cuff that uses sc stitches and is worked in turned rows.
  • The Mitten Cuff is joined to form a ring.
  • The Main Mitten Body is then worked in rounds into the sides of the Mitten Cuff rows.
  • We break the yarn at the end of the round for a number of rounds then rejoin again to create the Thumb Hole.
  • With the Main Mitten Body complete, we add the Thumb in joined rounds to the Thumb Hole.

  • The pattern is worked firstly in rows for the Mitten Cuff and then in rounds for the Main Mitten Body and Thumb.
  • Make sure to use stitch markers at the beginning of each round so as not to lose your place.
  • All stitches are worked as sc in blo or Mdc.
  • Each Round uses just one colour.
  • A ch1 at the beginning of a row or round does not count as a stitch.
  • Read through the entire pattern before beginning.
  • Before you start, go through the pattern and highlight/mark the stitch and row counts that correspond to the size you are making (this will make your life much easier!).
  • Make sure that you are familiar with all of the stitches in the abbreviations list before you begin.
  • Stitch counts are given in [ ] at the end of each row or round. If no stitch count is given, then the count is the same as the previous row.
  • The count number referring to each size is laid out as follows: Toddler (Child, Adult)
