Get set for a chilly winter with these versatile and on trend crochet mitts! Made from soft 4ply yarn, the soft ribbing and texture stitch body are just the thing. They are practical too – a toggle holds back the finger cover when you need your fingers free and then it pops over when you want to be warm all over. A great project to keep, give and make again!

I love the idea of full on mitts but they are just so impractical sometimes aren’t they?! I designed these crochet mitts to be both practical and cute so if you’re anything like me and need to regularly have your fingers free for photographing, dog lead untangling, snack and toy passing etc etc then these are just the thing for you.

I used around 100g of Rowan Pure Wool 4ply for these mitts you see here but any 4ply yarn that’s soft and squishy will work fabulously. Here are some suggestions you might like to try:

Rowan Super Fine Merino 4ply

West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply

Sirdar Snuggly 4ply

Deramores yarn

  1. I’m having some trouble figuring out how to attach the thumbs. Is there any chance there is a diagram or something that might clarify for me?

  2. I cant see how many balls of yarn are needed for these. There doesn’t seem to be yardage figures either. Can anyone advise please?

  3. These directions are vague and challenging. It is as if some of the directions are left out. For instance, the finger cover states how to make and attach, but not what to do in between these directions.

    1. Hi Kristine, I’m so sorry about this! It is one of my older patterns and my writing style has changed significantly since them so I’ll definitely add it to my list to update and improve it. Thank you for taking the time to let me know. Have a great day, Hannah
