This glorious ankle-length lacy crochet socks pattern is such a treat to make and wear. Worked from the toe up, the foot and ankle feature a delicate lace look crochet cable stitch. With a subtle ribbing at the top and a sturdy heel added they are perfect for both comfort and style.

You can carry on reading to find the free pattern here in this blogpost or purchase an ad-free, printable PDF version of the Rialto Lacy Crochet Socks Pattern in my pattern store to download and print.

About the Rialto Lacy Crochet Socks Pattern

I used to be so scared of not only designing but even making crochet socks! I know it’s something that lots of people avoid as they look so tricky but I promise that anyone can make them. Working from the toe up means that you can try them on as you go and get the fit just right for you.

I have often been asked can a beginner crochet socks? My answer is absolutely yes! In my opinion crochet socks are no more tricky than working a bag or a hat in the round so if you can manage those then you’ll have no problem!

To fit feet size UK 4-8 but with information for adjusting for bigger or smaller feet, these crochet socks make the perfect stocking filler and last-minute Christmas crochet gift to work on this time of year.

Yarn

To make the Rialto Lacy Crochet Socks I used Debbie Bliss Rialto Luxury Sock yarn which is 75% wool, 25% polyamide, 100g/400m and comes in the most glorious colours.

You will need 1 ball of the yarn (400m) to make a pair of socks.

A great alternative yarn is Felici Fingering by WeCrochet which is a perfect match at 75% wool, 25% nylon, 400m/100g and has lots of brand new colour options just released!

Tension and Sizing

The socks will fit most average size feet UK size 4-8.

22st and 7 row patt reps = 10cm by 10cm

Notes

The sock is worked from the toe up. The Toe is worked in a continuous spiral without closing off each round with a slip stitch. You may find it helpful to place a marker in the first st of each round and move it up as you work.

If you love working toe up crochet socks then you might fancy making my knee high crochet socks that use the overlay mosaic crochet technique – you can make them any length you like!

Customising your sock size

If you’d like the foot part of the sock to be a little longer/shorter,  just add/subtract repeats of the pattern (Rounds 16 and 17) to suit.

Similarly for the ankle section, at Round 45, just add/subtract repeats of the pattern to suit.
